Fornalutx, just like the entire Tramuntana region itself,
offers its guests a diversity of cultural, sporting and culinary attractions,
as well as impressive countryside – all year round.
In the summer a multitude of water-sports such as diving, canoeing,
surfing and sailing are on offer in nearby Puerto de Sóller
(only 15 minutes by car). In the immediate vicinity of the apartment
complex is a tennis court which Sa Tanqueta is pleased to reserve
for its guests. And golf fans will find that Fornalutx is conveniently
located for the many golf courses on the island. The nearest one
is only 20 minutes from the hotel and has 9 holes.
Above all, during the autumn and spring months, the countryside and
mountains around Fornalutx are an irresistible temptation for extensive
walks and cycle tours. We regularly organise walks from Sa Tanqueta
to a private farmhouse in the Tramuntana mountains – food and
drink included. An interesting opportunity to become familiar with
life in the region at first hand. All in all a vast number of unspoilt
mountain paths with varying degrees of difficulty guarantee a pleasurable
ramble for walkers of all capabilities. In the winter months you can
enjoy the peace and quiet, and in January you can admire the breathtaking
natural spectacle when the almond trees blossom.
Those who prefer to discover culinary delights should try out one
of the many little restaurants in the region. Be it Pa amb oli (the
renowned farmhouse bread smeared with tomato and olive oil), suckling
pig or freshly-caught fish and seafood – the cuisine of the
Tramuntana has something to offer to suit all tastes and pockets.
Those who like to celebrate should not miss one of the numerous village
festivals in the region. For here the accent is firmly placed on tradition
and having a good time. And those who do not want to forego metropolitan
life entirely can reach Palma, one of the most popular cultural and
leisure centres in the Mediterranean, in a mere 40 minutes.
